Hi from France,

I own since 22 years a nice Celebrity CC-257 S/N: 430770 - (color: natural - Made in Korea), that I didn't play since... 10 years at least
Now, just taking it out from it's case: I can see that the neck in slightly bended, which makes the strings "far" from the frets, bigger than 2 milimeters from fret #6-7 and increasing onwards.
From the back opening, I can see the truss rod "allen" hole... But I cannot measure its size... my question is:
- Is the size of the allen tool to use, in metric or inches ?
... I read in diffferent websites that it can either be 5mm or 3/16 of an inch (which is 4,76mm)

Maybe somebody can help before I can order the proper tool

Thanks from my country, and season greetings to all the Ovation fans!

It should be a 3/16 inch Allen (hex) wrench.
I have a Celebrity CSE-44, and I just checked... It takes a 3/16" hex wrench.

Has your guitar had strings on it, tuned to pitch, for the last 10 years?
If so, you may need more than a Truss Rod adjustment.
If your strings are too high further down the neck than the 7th Fret you will need to lower the strings at the bridge (Saddle) by removing Shims from under the Saddle.

Your Truss Rod will only adjust the "relief" around the middle of the fingerboard.
So... Be "gentle" with that Truss Rod.

And I hope that this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick answer...
According to my brother in law (she was stocked there) , yes the strings were ± tuned at pitch ... I realize that the result could be caused by this .
Anyway, I'll try first with a 3/16 wrench. BTW yesterday I tried metric Allen : 5mm is too big and 4mm is too small, this confirms 3/16 of an inch!
Then if not enough I'll try with the saddle .I saw a nice video of it...
Thanks for the recommendantions
