1113, or 1116, in this case - no others will do.

I see the two on ebay - given the SN, the first one is intriguing....our reference here does not have E+3 digits....

Miles, would an E+3 digits be the front end of E+4 digits?

My cousin, in St. Louis - he is a pure classical player - owns several Ramirez, but says he was always impressed by the initial non-electified Ovations - aka better than they should have been, but does not know a thing about them....need a nice one because the boy can really play.

I'm not sure what you mean. To my knowledge all of the "E's" were solidbodies.. as in E for Electric.

I think he's talking about a acoustic guitar with a paper ovation label that reads Exxx like this one.

My guess is if D+3 digits equals 1970 E+3 digits would be a 1971

Thanks for the reply...here is the link to the posting on Ebay....a model 1113, with a serial # of E-784.
The model number seems true to the guitar - nylon string, deep bowl - no electronics - wide fretboard.

Our serial number decoder has E +4 digits....an anomaly? Advice?
As I would be getting this for another person who only wants a 1960s or early 1970s non electric nylon, I just want to make sure it is what we think it is. As for me - your slotted headstock Academy would work just fine for me!
