| If one has a heavily-scratched finish on a Breadwinner, it is possible to buff it out - hence having it appear like the shiny-bowl acoustics? |

There is wood underneath that paint.
So if you want it shiny black, you would just sand the finish off and repaint it.
Shiny gloss would take gloss paint and wax, right?
(I'm guessing... I know nothing about finishing guitars, furniture or automobiles)

| I don't actually have it yet - pondering it, and my question is part of the process. Wouldn't mind terribly if the finish all got buffed off, but it's not a skill I possess, and I do like the aesthetics of the flat black/poly look. |

Location: NW Washington State | Arthur is too modest, we all know he's the go-to guy for a textured burst finish.
I see some Krylon and Rustoleum textured finishes in the hardware stores. I wonder if they would be close to the original Breadwinner body paint.
Truck bed liner should give your Breadwinner an indestructible finish. |

Location: Orlando, FL | The body you're going for sounds like Captain Lovehandles "Demon Deacon" he got from Samova.
It was a gloss black Deacon with a white pickguard built from NOS Ovation parts. The neck was from something else, Preacher maybe?
I'm pretty sure Jas sold it, but have no idea if an OFC member got it or not. It was a very cool guitar.
I did some searching, but couldn't find a picture. It was also referred to as the Tuxedo Deacon. |

Location: Orlando, FL | Thanks. that picture doesn't do it justice, it's a very striking guitar, the gloss finish and white pickguard are really different. I have a picture of it somewhere from when Jas visited years ago. I'll see if I can dig it up.
So it was a UKII neck? It was very skinny. It felt very different than any Breadwinner or Deacon I've every played. Not bad at all, but it didn't feel like a Deacon/BW when you played it. I've never played another Ovation with that style neck. But I've never had the pleasure of playing a UKII, so I don't know.
