Does anybody know what happened to Hamer USA? Are they still in business? if not, any news if they will be? These custom guitars were some of the very best guitars money could buy and it would be a shame if they are gone. I have two, a custom Monoco III with Jason Lollar pups and an Improve (No. 6) and love them both. What a terrible waste if they are closed for good. Maybe Al has some insight as an authorized (former?) dealer.

Prof...

If I remember correctly, FMIC stated they were "suspending production". That was several years ago. They finished out the custom orders and closed the doors. Dantzig still makes guitars, so if you want a custom built hamer'ish you can still get one from the master.

I have a beautiful Monoco Subtone that I would like to sell for a reasonable price.

from what I understand, less than 25 were made.

Phuckner put a gun to Hamer's head and pulled the trigger.

I know Jol and follow his blog. I was thrilled when he documented the constructiom of my Monoco on his Hamer blog while he was still there. I just wish Hamer USA was still around. What a waste of talented craftsmen. Beal's comment pretty much says it all. Glad I got an Improv when the opportunity came up.
