Location: Nova Scotia, Canada | ...from a 1979 Captain and Tennille "Songbird" special. The DVD this was taken from was digitally remastered and the quality is absolutely superb. If not for the clothes and hairdos, this could have been recorded yesterday.
Glen Campbell is the playing the Bluebird 6 with the UK2 pickups and jamming with Darryl and Toni after chatting about touring with the Beach Boys. This is the best BB6 footage I've ever seen.
This is a 42 mg avi file so it will take 45 seconds or so to start playing (with DSL internet connection).
Much thanks to g8r (sergio) and John (Waskell) for their tutelage on the subject of video conversion.

Location: SoCal | That's pretty cool. I'd love to see the video of the next tune he did. He was picking up an Adamas deep bowl.
I'd bet even money that the Bluebird he's playing is now in the hands of Wayne Reid (bluebird) up in Nova Scotia. He's got 2 of the 3 6 six strings, this one and the one with the full on stereo active electronics. There's one more and I think it's down her in SoCal. I saw it on ebay once several years ago. I think the seller wanted abot $20k for it.... |

It's very interesting to hear the great sound of the Bluebird 6!!
Nice video and good song but I don't like the blue strap with the big eagle...  ;)

| Thanks Wayne!
If I can ever make the UKXII sound 1/10th as good I'll be happy.
same components in my guitar basically... just none of the talent in it's current owner(me), at least Glen, Jerry, Buddy, and Miles held/played part of it once..
keep waiting for some mojo to rub off while I try to whip up some of my own.
great video... didn't realize how much glitter was actually on those tops. and hadn't seen and heard a Bluebird sing(at least that clearly) since I was a kid.
Thanks again,
Glenn |

Location: SoCal | I need a margarita. When I saw the original post, for some reason, I thought it was from Amazingly-Detached (Glenn) and responded accordingly.
Where's that salt..... |

Paul;
Maybe you just need another margarita!
Yes, I'm pretty sure that is the guitar I have...it identical in every respect. It is, by far, my favourite Bluebird.
Jerome; Yes, the strap is a little 'over the top' but hey, it was still the Seventies! ;)
The second song features an early production Adamas. As I mentioned in the first post, the original production and digital remastering are absolutely top drawer and was only about 5 bucks and change to buy.
There is also some great footage by Ella Fitzgerald and B B King. And I had forgotten what a great set of pipes Toni Tennille had.
