Here's one we don't see for sale very often, and it’s an absolute beauty! This 2000 Collector's is actually #24 of the production run and is in excellent condition, plays like crazy, and looks ...well...marvelous! It's a Mid-depth C/A with a Figured Lacewood top that's stained in an unusually graceful finish called transparent honey. The figure in the grain is so intricate that it's difficult to describe. Up close the figure and graining is so tight that you just stare at it and say "That's really cool!". From a distance, the face of the guitar shifts slightly as it moves in the light and catches the figuring from different angles. Then there's the sound. The instrument has a very warm, mellow tone that still has surprising punch for a mid-bowl. In other words, VERY nice.

The frets have only some slight wear with years and years of life left in them, and the playability is superb along the entire neck!

A couple of other specs: Scale Length is 25 1/4" and a nutwidth of 1 11/16", the fretboard is strikingly grained Rosewood, it has a very classy inlay on the 12th fret. It comes with the Optima pre-amp with built-in tuner and the Tru-Balance pick-up. The headstock; has a matching Lacewood overlay and a gleaming, golden Ovation logo. And the bridge is the same, good-looking rosewood as the fretboard.

It has only minor cosmetic issues: The gold-plating on the tuners has worn a little, and there’s a slightly dull spot in the finish between the smaller epaulette and the E-string. It is very hard to see and all-but-impossible to photograph. From two feet away, the guitar looks brand new!

It comes with the 8158 hardshell case which is in very good shape. The hinges and clasps are solid and the interior is fine as well. The case should last a very long time.

Ask any questions. The pictures really don't do this one justice at all. I'm asking $865 shipped in the continental U.S. International members need to check with me about shipping charges first.

You can find the pictures below and several more on my photobucket page HERE.

I hope to hear from some of you soon; this guitar is definitely worth your time.

Oh God! Not again... Patch, you are killing me, again.

Do the fret markers go all the way to the nut on the top of the fret board? What is the pre amp?

Do you mean the markers on the side of the neck binding like you can see a bit of below? If so, they are in the usual places; 3,5,7,9,12,15, and 17.

If you mean on the fretboard itself, there are no markers save for the 12-fret banner inlay. It would just hide that really cool rosewood grain anyway.

It's the Optima pre-amp. It looks like this one, but it's black instead of brown. You should hear it through my ribbon amp!

Goodness gracious that is a great price for a great guitar! The grain in the wood almost looks like a natural version of the graphite tops that Adamas are so famous for! Way out of my reach now, but I'm gonna start putting $50 bucks away each month and try to get me one of these great OFC guitars in the future. Something to shoot for anyway! For right now, just enjoying the beautiful scenery!

Guess I'll bump this one more time. It will probably go on the block tomorrow night.

Any offers?
