I bought an ovation with a little "o"...

And a 3-piece Neck...

But the String Height is really Good, and it arrived in Tune!

But even though this is NEW-new (not a 2nd) they let it outta the factory with finish blemishes...

But the most important thing is that it Plays really Nice.

I have other photos and comparisons and such...
But right now I just wanna play with my New Toy!

That dreamcatcher on the wall seems to be working for you. I look forward to hearing more about how this thing stacks up against similar USA models you've had.

Well done Art. Interested to hear how you think it stacks up against the US T.

First... Y'all remember that resiny New Ovation Smell?
This doesn't have it.
It has some kinda plastic/paint/glue smell... But it ain't the Right smell and it ain't pleasant.

Here are some differences. I am using my 1868T for comparison.
The paint texture of the TX is "finer"... It is not a bumpy as USA T's.

The USA is on the top... It has bigger "drops".
Also, the "Blackened Rosewood" ain't that Black...

It also has some interesting innards. This is a weird chunk of wood under the bridge...

And that is the chuck of wood where the neck is epoxied-on...

I haven't changed the strings, and since this is Truly New and has EXP's on it, I may not have to change them for a while.
I did notice that the Saddle is pretty high, so it might have a couple of shims under there...

I haven looked under there yet, but if there are a few shims under there that might be good... Allow for more adjustments since there will be No neck-resets.
Oh! When I opened the "manhole cover"... You cannot use a penny or a dime like all my other Ovations. You have to really use a screwdriver. That is stupid because the screw on my Elites is like it is Designed for a coin.

Oh, another thing, the output jack is in the Back/bottom instead of on the end.

And when I look Down... That heel just doesn't look Right!

I have to say that this does play easily and it has it's own voice.
I will still need to wait for it to open-up a bit, and it does have EXP's on it now.
I did get a good deal...
I figure I paid a Celebrity Price for an "ovation" with a "Limited Lifetime Warranty".
Tomorrow I think that I will take it out on the street-corner and make it earn it's keep.

BTW-- THIS is who I bought this from... In case they have any left.

Hey, Arthur. If you play unplugged, it's no USA. But if you plug it in I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how close it is to the USA T top :-)

Thanks for the comparo, OMA. I'll be curious what you think about it out in the real world compared to its look-alike cousin.

Nice review Arthur.
You know, with the finer "pebbleing" it'll probably allow the paint to stick even better!

I saw the stacked heel on both tx's that I encountered, maybe maple scraps leftover from building the 5 pc ax necks.
