Hi There , I have a 1612 custom baladeer and I'm not able to ampltfy it , I cant see where any battery would go or even if thats how it works. I would be very grateful if there is anything obvious to check
Thanks for your help

Hi Andrea... You don't visit much anymore.

Does your 1612 have a Volume knob? A Volume/Tone Stacked knob? Or what?

Does your 1612 have a black/brown screw-head on the side of the bowl?
If it does, that is what is holding the battery.

If you look closely at the side of this Ovation you can see the screw in the waist...

And here is a page from Ovation Tribute...

Hope that is Helpful!

No worries,I called out the 'Blazing Nut and Saddle ' emergency guitar repairers ,they sent out 2 blokes who drunk lots of tea , umed and ahed , sctached their heads ,kept going back to their van to get tools said it was most likely a dodgy solenoid and would need several new parts that would have to be ordered and they weren't sure how long it would take and that they needed a 250 quid deposit and would get back to me

I would be honored...

I will install an external-access batery box, level and dress the frets, clean and oil the fretboard, install new strings, adjust the truss rod, and retune. Then Cliff, an internationally respected artist, will play your guitar and assure that it could not be better.

...please confirm Cliff's availability through his agent and arrange our flights
