Location: atlanta | My daughter Kaki has been booked to play on all four days of the 2009 Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee. This year's headliner is Bruce Springsteen:

The number and variety of the artists is just astounding. I'm planning on being there, so if any OFC'ers are going, let me know by PM. The first tall cool one's on me!
Best regards to all--

They were talking about this last night on TV. The only name they mentioned was Springsteen. Sounds like a good line up.
Doubt if I can make it but you never know. |

Your daughter is an inspiration. I accidentally came across one of her on-line videos and found it addictive. The style and technique she uses is amazing. No hopes personally of ever being that talented myself, but big fan just the same. |

Location: atlanta | Brian thanks for that, and let me welcome you to one of the best and most interesting boards on the net, imho.
OFC'ers are genuinely nice and well informed people, and they have been very supportive of Kaki's career and her association with Ovation, Adamas and Kaman. She has many friends here.
She's about to tour Australia and Europe, and News.com.au did a nice feature on her today:

Once again, thanks for being a fan and an OFC'er.
Finest regards--

Location: Chicago | Wow, Dave, that IS a great lineup. It's tempting to get away to TN, if only to see Kaki. Booyah! |

Location: atlanta | Sorry to bump the thread, but I thought you guys might enjoy seeing some recent pictures of Kaki onstage in New York City. The venue was the Brooklyn Academy of Music, a fine restored concert hall, and a professional photographer recorded the scene and the shows. Kaki is shown playing her Adamas II 1581-5 prototype, a Veillette electric baritone six string, and her Gretsch Electromatic lap steel. She was accompanied by Matt Hankle, a drummer she met a few years ago when she was performing with the Blue Man Group.

She leaves next week for another Australian tour, and I hope the wildfires are under control by then. Those fires have been catastrophic in the number of lives lost and property destroyed. Our hopes and prayers go out to those affected, and to all OFC'ers down under.
Best regards--

Location: northern virginia | Hi - I’m ashamed to admit that I had never been exposed to Kaki’s playing (yes, I do live under a rock :) , so yesterday I watched all the youtube clips I could find of her, and I’d like to humbly offer my little expression of utter delightful amazement. “Magic” is the word that kept coming to mind as I listened and watched. |
