Location: Las Cruces, NM | I have had some queries from some members as to whether I was still around, so I thought I would tell you all, to the disgust of some, yes I am motoring on.
My wife's operation to correct a cataract blindness has not been as easy as we would like. She recovered her sight not too long after the operation, but because she is diabetic, it suddenly went away, requiring laser treatments to correct blood vessel problems, which we are still working on and there is still hope there.
I mentioned earlier my $300 '88 Toyota Tercel that my grandson abandoned at my house and I have been working on. I rescued the air conditioning and converted it to R134 to where it can freeze me out easily, after I paid Pep Boys $29 to tell me it would never work again. I stuck all the missing pieces that I found laying around inside it back on, like the brake light on the hatch, and trim around the windows, pounded the loose bumpers back in place and lubed all the latches. The engine hafd been rebuilt as a shop project at my grandson's high school and runs like a top, nice 1494cc 12 valve 4 cylinder engine. Being an '88, it is carburated with six miles of smoggy vacuum lines so I have spent many hours studying that system and some minutes correcting the leaks and wrong connections. The upshot is, my wife, who when she had a business in 1989 and bought us two new Colt Vistas, rode in the Tercel and thought it ran almost as good as our new Colt Vistas. (The last one of which I was driving when I was T-Boned by a red light runner, leaving me bruised and broken for some time and I have recovered.)
My son's Buckeye Bluegrass Band issued a great CD of all original bluegrass songs that can be heard on www.bandspace.com and 3 of the songs are in the top five in the bluegrass charts on that web site.
I am trying to switch my playing to electric guitar as I haven't been playing in a band for a while. The possibilities are endless. My possible time left to experiment are not.

Now I've got 1200 miles infront of me to get back to where the weather suitas my clothes.

Schroeder, it is one of my great pleasures being able to jump to other continents so easily, and you don't need no smiley, I enjoy the British humour and can't be anything but appreciative of it, I often use some acerbic comments that at times have been taken wrongly by the overly sensitive, such as Al.
