I forgot to include the link with my post but besides being a "vintage Applause" the guy says that the bowl design came from a wrecked helicopter in Viet Nam and that Ovation bought the rights for the design from a vet. I can't access Ebay from work but if I can find the listing tonight I'll add it. |

I would buy tango tequila sunrise and drink half put in a pint of southern comfort and then wait for the sun to rise.
I had a friend into the pop wines. boones farm strawberry hill, mateuse rose, madria madria sangria, yago sangria and the unwinder. (the first wine cooler YUK) |

Those of us who drank White Rocket, Red Rocket, and Boone's Farm should get discounts from morticians. There was enough formaldehyde in that swill that they won't have to use much embalming fluid on us.

My wife loved cherry vodka and southern comfort at one time or another until she experienced over tasting shock and gave up on that sort of sophistication. Next thing you will be knocking Swedish Glugg (a combination of red wine, fruit, raisins, etc in a a punch bowl garnished with orange slices, served hot), great when the thermometer is registering 40 below, but dangerous in sunny California where our Swedish buddy made it for a new year's eve party in the 60's, it went down easy and came back up for some and tortured those that it did not come back up for at least two days into the new year, damaging the US, Swedish foreign relations, Sweden only saved by the memory and fear of the Vikings. (after it wore off we realized the Vikings were more likely Norweigan)

The Swede who made the Glugg was a mathematician at General Atomic with a masters, there were so many PhDs at GA that he was treated like a laborer, so he went back to school and got his PhD and was working at the lab in LA that processed the Mars lander photos and he sent me a complete set which my daughter took to school for show and tell and her teacher stole them (I just found this out a few months ago when she came to visit (she just turned 40)).
A small harbinger of things to come, he and his wife and me and mine were dining at a pretty good San Diego restaurant and he was joking about how it would be if he got his doctor's, so he signed the bill as Dr. Carlsten (he signed his full name), we paid the bill but a few months later he got a letter asking when he was going to pay this bill that he had signed. It took him a while to straighten it out as he had 5 kids and couldn't afford to pay it again.
