Location: Athens, GA & Gnashville | So what kind of string do you like to use on your Ovation classical/country artist? I have used the LaBella 820 flamenco strings, mainly because Jerry Reed pointed out to me that they are bright and "flappy." We are talking low tension here. That is all he has ever used for years. And, they are CHEAP, too!
Of course, the red nylon treble strings can stay on there longer. I just change the basses when they start sounding like total kaka, and I use the extra trebles for dental floss. LOL! Jerry liked for his strings to sound like kaka....hear that Al? |

Of course, I'm sure that a harder tension string would sound better with the pickup. |
