Or AD-8...

How prevalent are these devices in use with Ovation players on this board or in general? I found it indespensible, but have found few others that really swear by them. The difference in getting rid of that "quack" is pretty amazing.

Has anyone used the AD-8? Yamaha Acoustic Stomp? Anything else out there that does the same thing better?

The AD-5 seems to be the best sound for the price.

I've used an AD5 since 1999 and I've yet to find antyhing to better it.

I use an AD8 for playing live with my Martins (don't yell at me, I bring the Ovation out too!). I have found the AD8 useful because it has programmable presets which allows the user to store different sounds. In my case, I find it useful for switching between settings for fingerstyle and chord strumming.

As for my Ovation 12 string. I tried it with the AD8 and found that I like it better with no effects. I run it straight to the board through an E.Q. and a D.I. using only a touch of reverb from my mixer. I have found that with my Ovations, less is more as far as processing goes.

Just my opinion.
