Does anyone know anything about this guitar? There's one available locally for $500 in vgc. Any help is appreciated.

Owned one for a few years back in the day...great sound and that's not a bad price...I'm w/Beal on the action though...w/Guild's dual truss rod system on twelve strings, high action could be an expensive fix....

So an Ovation 12 string would probably a better way to go?

Thanks, Serge. I'm curious to try different guitars, but it helps to have someone tell you what you already know.

My 6756LX 12 string is sweet!!! Tried it against a high end Taylor (yeah I know), Cort & Celebrity and this would smash them.

Good Luck :D

Absolutely! I recently found a 1758 in great shape at a pretty great price off C.L. Great Action, Tone and one of the LOUDEST guitars I've ever "experienced" Acoustically. Incredible!!

Ovation 12 is slways better stability wise.
A good Guild will give a different sound. How bad do you want a different 12 string sound?

the action on O's 12s is hard to beat. They play like 6 stringers

You should sell it to me just to annoy TJ.

I'm more interested in stability than a different sound. The main reason I was asking about it was because it was just down the road a few miles. That's the great thing about this board: lots of knowledgable people.

Now why would I wan't to annoy T.J???

Atleast I know I can start a bidding war if I do decide to sell it, make some money on the thing.
Hey, T.J. What you offering again??? (Better up the offer! Words getting out!) ;)

You guys are killing me. The seemingly bottomless guitar fund well has dried up. I think Jack still has some money though. ;)

Tha add has been flagged for removal, which doesn't sound promising. I've emailed the seller asking for some photos of the D-35 he's also selling. If he responds I'll go tonight or tomorrow to look at both.

Certainly my 29-year-old is pretty stable.

I have that guitar 1999 model , I LOVE IT. A neck reset is expensive 300-400 so if it needs ones 500 is a bit high. The neck can be a bit wide for some compaired to the O and taylor but if you like to do a little finger picking that wide neck comes in handy. To may ear compaired to everything I test drove the quild had a more balance and even tone. All the Taylors sounded a little tinny to me. But no matter what 12 I tried the Jumbo's were the better unplugged.

FWIW, a I let a F212 owner play my Elite 12 on Wednesday at open mic for a song.

Afterwads, I had to tell him "NO" several times when he offered to buy it.

The action and playability is what got him. I've heard some wonderful 12 string wood boxes, and have even owned a couple, but nothing plays like an O.

I was thinking about a Guild F512 (same thing with rosewood body) If bought the Guild I wanted it to be
made in New Hartford. Not in production yet.
Guild makes some wonderfull sounding 12 string.
Playability is iffy. Some have the "Guild Hump" where the neck and body meet.

I ended up buying an Adamas W598.

The point is moot since he sold the D-35. I was hoping to do a package purchase with a discount if I liked the Guild. I'll keep eye out for a decent Pacemaker. Thanks for all the responses.
