I can't help but think that the FD14 would have made a great collectors guitar. In looking thru the Collector's guitars, about half were really interesting and half, I saw no reason to build or buy.

One of the coolest things about the FD14 is that they are so friggin rare and the OFC members have latched onto this model. 20% of the FD14s sold in the US reside with OFC members. Name one other commercially available model where that's true. Don't ruin the collectability for the rest of us by suggesting they should have built 1000 of them! The 2006 Collector should be a contour bowl tenor ukulele with adamas top and single cateye soundhole. Kim, Willy, Darren - do you hear me ???

Dave, I can see why you consistently place this guitar as your favorite. It just lives to be played. I consider myself very fortunate to have lucked into owing this one. Question tho....I have seen several members who list the FD14 in their signature section along with a serial number. Mine has like 5 digits, then the USA, then 4 digits on the neck. Where are they coming up with these 2 digit numbers? Wishful thinking???

The "/" may be hard to see if it falls on the dark part of the wood (mine is like this). I'm glad you like the guitar and further confirm what a genious Witko was when he bought the first one sight unseen, dispite everyone else asking WTFIT? All things considered, probably my favorite guitar. Dave
