Location: France | Hi, guys, I need advices. What's the better for guitars maintenance ? Let them in their HSCases, or hang them on the wall to guitar support ? Thanks for all your advices you'll give to me!!! |

Location: Upper Left USA | This has been debated, inflated and irated on, so here is the MWoody Reader's-Digest version:
Safest place is in the Ovation Original Hardshell Case - just like the safest place for a battleship is in port. However, that is not where they are of the most use. If you want to keep them in the case for extended times you may wish to humidify and inspect at intervals.
If you always return it to the OHSC let me add this opinion - 90% of the damage I have seen/done has been from the latch mechanism of a case to the top of the guitar! Think about it.
Hanging on the wall in a low traffic place is the preferred location and method. You are more likely to play it, you will spot any damage and they will enjoy the same comfort (humidity and temp) that you do!
They will also make you smile when you walk into the room. :) |

I have a Hercules wall hanger with the tabs that pop up to keep the guitar secure in the hanger. :cool: |

| Yep Got about a dozen String Swing wall hangers for mine. No worries about the kids or the dogs or myself knocking them over on a floor stand. And I store my cases elsewhere to save space anyway. They do look nice hanging in the music room! And they do not take up any room at all this way. Cases are for shipping and for transporting to & from a Gig. Enjoy.

Having made a trek to GC for yet another Tree Swing and reading NorthCountry's post - You should put some Tree Swings branded with OFC in the country store!
It fits with the whole GAS inspiring decorum of this site! |

Location: WV | I agree with MWoody. However looking around my living room at the moment (I am on the couch) to my left within arms reach is a Crate amp and a Celebrity on a floor stand. Across the room on stands are an Ibanez GFX and a Samick Jazz Bass. Lying on a pile of cloths in a chair is an Ibanez AEF 30. Peeking out from under the futon is what looks like a headstock. Not sure what that is. My daughters flute and music is near the TV and my sons Yamaha keyboard is in a corner. Weekends tend to be a little on the wild side around here. The kids are old enough and smart enough not to damage anything and there is no wife to nag. Life is good.
