Hello,

I have an Adamas 1581 cutaway.
I never had the chance to play on an Adamas 1681 non cutaway (it is hard to find some in french shops :( ), but I love its "full body" looking.
I wonder to know what is the sound difference between these two models.
I know it isn't so easy to explain by writting sound differences, but if anyone could give me some information on this matter !!

Thank you !
Dude.

just cutaway vs non-cutaway
doubt anyone could tell the sound difference if both r made in the same period & same condition

If the cutaway doesn't have soundholes on the treble side, then you'll be able to tell the difference. In fact, I'd but the cutaway with teble side soundholes has a little more bass than the noncutaway.

My oldest son told me that the definition of 'dude' is 'the hair on an elephants butt.' Don't know if that's true or not, but...

I just want to point out that I did not realize that his moniker was 'Dude.' I was replying to Moody, whom I know does not like that word...I assumed (wrongly) that someone had used it in the thread.

To Dude from France: je suis désolé!!!!

Moody,
That's Mr. Dude to you.

Mr. Dude, your 1581 is cooler than a 1681.

Waow !!
Thank you very much for your fast answers !
To precise, my Adamas cutaway has soundholes on the treble side (well done Mr. Adamas ;) ).
But effectively, I think I've read that without soundholes on the treble side, bass are deeper.

Funny the reactions on my nickname !
Cruster, I'm glad to know the meaning of it :D !!
The reason for that name is that my firstname is "Edouard" but my friends call me "Doudou", transformed in "Dude" for easier use on the web (email adress).

Cwk2, thank's for your post.
I'll keep my cutaway (that I really enjoy !)!

Finally, perhaps the main difference between these both models is the better access to the high frets on the cutaway.

Merci beaucoup !!
Time to go to sleep, in France, it is 3h30 am !!
Friendly,
Dude-Doudou-Edouard ;)

glad that u r not offended.

cruster should send his son back to school =) dude doesn't have that meaning.

1581 is cooler than 1681? i suspect cwk2 misunderstood & thought yours had soundholes on bass side only.

i have both 1581 & 1681 plus several adamas 1 ...
they r all good =)

I'm right with you on the "dude" thing Paul, but i think we should cut Doudou [read doo doo]some slack considering the jokes that may have come about had he used that as his moniker!!
