Looks like somebody read StandingO's webpage when writing his narrative on this.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=47064&item=7...

Be a good guitar to watch.

Wayne (Bluebird) was just waxing wishfully on the other 1537 thread.

...incidently, I emailed Randy Travis, in hopes of discovering the fate of the 1537 pictured on his Album cover.

Maybe that's ME selling MINE under an assumed name ???? Naw, never happen. But wow am I ever flattered that someone would lift my text. Even took the spec table (when is the last time someone listed the color of the label and the type in logo inlay). I feel honored. Much more impressive than finding your phone number on a bathroom wall. Dave

That's in my territory. Somebody just aced me out of the shiny bowl in ebay yesterday, so this one must be waiting for me. My wife didn't understand why I wanted an old cracked guitar for $150, so she definitely won't understand this one. My daughter goes to school in Moscow and none of you guys would want a guitar from there.

HAH,
Thought I would jump into the action with Tony and Dave just to show the interest generated.

so far...bidders are Dave, myself, and Stephen.

dark pictures, no indication of condition (other than chips into the bowl) - be interesting to see what response the seller has to my questions.

Oh and Stephen,

you can be sure I made a bee line to this ebay listing when Paul posted it to make sure mine didn't "somehow" end up on Ebay for the bidding.

Same here really,,,,just trying to drum up a little interest. Too many new possibilities for filling up the stable without repeating....even when it is for a great guitar.

Hmmm Moscow...only a short 30 minute flight in my Cardinal, and then I would have TWO 1537's. Since I sent the Carvin back during the trial period, I now have the cash for ANOTHER 1537 and......oh my, was I thinking out loud?

Sorry...ahem...no you don't want this instrument folks. It is in the Pacific Northwest after all. You have heard how wet and rainy it is all the time here, the thing probably has moss growing on it.

Jeff...in Hermiston, OR

If these are so rare, why does someone in Hermiston (which I drove past twice in the last week) and Moscow have one and I don't? I'll be in Moscow next week, but the auction will be over.

Hey Waskel.
A little off topic but how do you like that Dean Key Largo? A friend of mine that lives out of state bought one and really liked his. I know...It's not an O, But it's a legitimate question.

Actually, I like it a lot, Steve. (not as much as my O's, but... well you know...)
Funny thing is, I had never seen or heard of one in the US. My wife and I were up in Kelona, BC for our 25th anniversary. We drove down to Penticton and found this classic guitar shop. She saw it on the wall and fell in love with it, what with the dolphins and palm trees and all. I figured, "Dean? Very pretty, probably a very pretty piece of crap."
Took it down, and was very surprised. Very playable with no setup, Fishman electronics sounded great plugged in.
Probably paid more than I should have, but it made a memorable anniversary gift. I even let her play it once in a while...
