I am dying to try a new contoured bowl. If it hugs your body and adds bass response man that is going to be killer.

Will it become standard?

I have an s771 and wanted to upgrade. I tried a used Mid depth CL(my dream O) but tone wise my S771 killed it so I returned it. My dream for a CL died that day.

So I decided to go all wood guitar because ulitmately with my fat belly playing standing up the O just got annoying.

If a contoured bowl(plus an oiled v neck but it ain't happening) was available for low dough on a new Ovation I would have bought one in a heartbeat if the tone was at least as good as an LX plus added the comfort of an all wood guitar.

My next Ovation would be a countour bowl as well if I had the choice, but the 2005 collectors is not appealing to me at all. The abalone leaf rosettes on O's are some of the most beautiful around and the abalone ring just doesn't look right. Plus I'm not a big fan of natural finished center roundhole ovation. Instead of the bowl shape changing, I think maybe my shape needs to change.

You can install a traditional abalone leaf rosette right on top of the inlaid rosette of the '05. Dave

I love my 05 Collectors. I hope contour bowls are the wave of the future!

This decision will be driven by what people want. Write to the people at KMC hq in Bloomfield and tell them what you want.

Assuming that all of the '05 Collector owners are correct, and the contour bowl both sounds as good as the old deep bowls while being more comfortable to play than the current mid bowls, then, I hope the contour bowl is the wave of the future. I am patiently (at least as patient as I can be) waiting for a Custom Legend LX with a contour bowl.

I will write to the powers that be and let them know my feelings.
