Very interesting piece of history, I assume. Some of you may appreciate this a whole lot-

Apparently the original buyer backed out or never responded so Sam is relisting it.

Mr Adamas,
It's not that I don't trust what you say, but I'd have to insist on verification. Rare doesn't always mean collectable. Other characteristics must also be taken into account and the only way I can see to make a legitimate judgement would be to form a committee of 1537 owners (I'll be happy to chair) each of whom will evaluate your 1538 over say a 3 month period. After the guitar has been evaluated by each memeber, a verdict will be rendered, unless it is decided that further evaluation is warrented...in which case.....

Mr Adaamas,
Jeff W. has a good point. I believe the personal evaluation is the only way to go...

I've never played a 1538. Does it have the same "mojo" over other elite 12's that the 1537 has over other elite 6's? The 1538 is rare, but that alone does not mean it's any good. Although it sure seems to have the right ingredients.

it's exactly like a 1537, except 2x string & wider neck. it sounds 2x as good as 1537 =)

Get rid of 1/2 the strings and you'll have yourself a wide neck 1537. Now THAT is something that would definately get my interest. Dave

So the 1538 is basically a 12 string version of the 1537? OH NO, say it ain't so - for the first time since I got my 1537, I'm getting GAS...

There weren't that many 1538's built. I've only seen one in my life.

I would like one!

Might have to be the subject of a custom order though!
