The amp has reached a major milestone! You can check out the pictures in the gallery at my blog:

I have a bunch of entries about the build process at:
http://www.shermonster.org/blog/
They're in the 'Amplifier' category on the right, although I think the last five entries show up on the front page (I'm still working on figuring out the blog stuff).
Huge thanks to CharlieB (and my wife, maybe not in that order) for all the help.
I wonder how long before my hearing returns. |

Location: Midland, MI | Speaking of Marconi...the Michigan QSO party is this weekend. Noon to midnight EDT. I'm going to try to be on the air, as I've participated the last two years. My best was the first one, though...3rd place. Last year I dropped to 5th due to the increased competition in QRP single-op. :)
Anyway, if you're listening and hear W8UNX/QRP calling CQ, give me some love...I'll need the points! :D
The amp project has been an absolute hoot. Charlie has probably forgotten more about amps than I'll ever know. Heck, he's just fun to chat with, but, I never would've gotten this far without his help and support. |

Location: the BIG Metropolis of TR | Nice build.....you going to leave that curly cherry "natural" right? (maybe a few coats of tung oil?) or you could paint it black! (like one of your buddies suggested :D )
Good job,I know you're proud!..... |

Nah...actually my buddy Scott had the best suggstion:
SHAG CARPET!!!!
HAHAHA. Seriously, I think I'm going to go with Charlie's suggestion of Delft nitro lacquer. My friend Dave thought gel stain, but...I have a serious problem with the thought of staining cherry in general and curly cherry in particular. Just doesn't seem right. |
