Saw one of these today in a pawn shop. Not being much of a classical fan, I passed but was wondering if you guys knew the value. There were a couple of finish cracks on the top, one about 2" long, one about a half inch. Looked like a couple of dings on the bowl as well. Guy wanted $175 with case. Good/bad deal?

IMHO - Any USA made Ovation that is playable and/or repairable under $200 should be grabbed up and given a home. Cases are worth $50-$100 anymore!

Not to keep talking about me (but I will if I have to) I grabbed the 1624 I have for sale on Ebay from a Pawnshop for just over $200 including shipping. I cleaned it up, played it for a while and it is still a good deal for someone. Nice Flavor!

Grab it!

Classical guitars are not just for the classical music anymore. Get it and have fun with it. Then if you don't like it do as MWoody said.

I have played my early Country Artist through a Digitech RP 80 and a 25 Watt practice amp and gotten a lot of different sounds. That was just goofing around. If you know what you are doing it can be a tone that a steel strung can't get near.
