I play Ovation "wide necks," nylon and a steel strings. I watch Ebay for more of these rare birds, and I know what model numbers to look for. But they are few and far between- in fact, my last Folklore I had to special order from the factory.
I have never bothered to look at Adamas guitars on Ebay, and it occurs to me that maybe they make (or made) equivalents to the Ovation Folklore and Folk Artist. If anyone knows of model numbers or model names , I would appreciate it (I dont want to look at every item that pops up on that platform )
Thanks in advance for your time. |

4Fingers, Adamas I was available in wide neck and they show up occasionally (rare) on ebay. Some of the original slotheads were wide necks also. Not sure if Adamas 2 was ever offered as a wide neck, but there's at least one custom one out there with a wideneck and slothead. I'm sure SMT and CVTs and all the alphabet stuff could be ordered wideneck if you were willing to pay. |

Location: Nova Scotia, Canada | I had a beige 1981 Adamas II wide neck that I purchased used straight from the factory in '85 or so that they referred to as a "shop guitar". Apparently, it was used as a loaner.
There is one identical to it pictured in the "book" on a stand behind Charlie and Bill on page 109. I always wondered if the one in the pic was the one I had. That was one awesome guitar.
I'm no engineer but I always thought the big stiff neck really added to the sound by keeping more energy at the top were it belongs.
