Hi,

Some pictures of the 2005 Collector's model.
The first 2 photos come from the Ovation official German web site and the 2 second from "Elderly music instruments" Web Site.
As you can see, there's some differences!!
Trus rod cover & inlays are different.
Is it a mistake or is it a special model for Europe & overseas???

Interesting....When I saw the "NIKE-like" swoosh inlay I thought it was a neat way to symbolize the contour bowl. Strange that there can be two styles of collector editions. Perhaps Ovation is getting feedback from the field that this collectors edition was a little to subtle. The test will be if they show up in the states like this.

Jerome,

Very interesting. I am very happy with mine, but please keep us posted if you uncover more differences.

The "german" pics are the same as the ones I saw on the ovation website and on music123. I think those are early "stock" photos and Ovation has made running changes to the design. My guess is they decided to change the fretboard inlay and add "collector's" to the trc.

I know several people who have tuned the TRC over because it's a little less gaudy. One guy may have even thrown it in the trash.

not surprised that euro model looks better!

for some reason, some models for euro & japan markets just look better. could be sales input from that markets.

the nike inlay & trc r a wee bit tacky.

Fellas! I am telling you the guitars going overseas are the same as the ones in the States!!! Those are stock photos pre change of the inlay. Look at the 05 Collector's on the Ovation webpage. It has the "collector's" inlay and the plain trc. Look at the music123.com pics. Same thing. Harmony Central review of the '05, same thing. All early photos are the one way, and all "live" pics are the swoosh and collector's trc.

Al,
Does mine you are sending me have the "Collector's" inlay at the 12th fret and the plain TRC? I sure hope so. :D ;) :D ;)
