I got my 6778LX NEB on ebay 2-3 mos ago. Got the action right where I like it...just short of buzzing. I had to remove both shims to achieve this. Now I'm thinking the break angle of the strings at the P/U is too shallow. I haven't checked this out carefully yet by listening plugged and unplugged over time, but all the theories we know tell me that the tone MUST be effected by what I've done. So...is it time to check out the advantages of this newly designed neck attachment. Should I bring it to the tour with me and leave it...have a different thickness shim installed so I can add shims again under the P/U, thereby increasing the break angle without making the action higher than I like it? Comments are welcomed. John <>{
