Location: Warren,Pa. | Today I'm installing a K&K P/U in my 6778LX. This P/U consists of 3 transducers fastened to the bridgeplate. The Ovation P/U will be nothing more than a saddle; however, that's a lot of "stuff" to use as a saddle. Anyone out there ever replaced an Ovation P/U with one solid piece of anything? John <>{ |

Location: NJ | Doesn't surprise me that you didn't get a lightning-quick response as I doubt there's been much of a "precedent" in it, as I don't anybody here's ever really had a NEED to do it. Kinda like asking if any body's ever taken the cartridge out of a high-end turntable and replaced it with a 5/16" Snap-On socket . . .
My "guess" :
You could probably take the saddle out (or procure an old, defunct one to use as a "model") and give it to someone who can machine you an exact dimensional replica of it out of solid bone/Tusq . . . probably be a fairly co$tly endeavour . . .
g'luck. |

I got a nice fat blank saddle from a fellow member and local luthier will shape it for me to fit into the wide slot on the bridge. |

Location: NJ | Why not just run the K&K to an endpin jack and have to one guitar with seperate (and distinct) outputs?? |

Location: Warren,Pa. | I did this same thing to my '02 CL 12string with Optima and the sound was MUCH improved. Now I have an OP Pro and I really don't want to bypass that. |
