HUMAN INTEREST STORY: Some of you may remember a couple of months back I wasn't having much luck selling my '02 CL 12. Well I was gonna put it on ebay for $800 (wouldn't THAT have been a shame)...but I have this friend Lisa. Lisa is 16 and I've wached her playing take off these last few years. Being good friends with her parents I lead them to her 1st guitar some years back,but Lisa had WAAAY outgrown that. This kid can make my 12string SING! I figured I'd rather see her with it than sell it to some stranger for $800. Long story short...it's her's now. Last night she lead worship at our church for the first time...about 100 people there. Man was I proud of her! I figure God brought that guitar my way 3 years ago just to hold onto it till Lisa was ready for it. Lisa's a new member here...goes by "willingheart06". no posts yet, but she and her dad are coming to the tour with me in June. Make her feel welcomed when she shows up! Tks. John <>{

I did that myself with an 1868T about a year ago. I'm so proud of the kid playing it now ... pay it forward, John -- God bless!

Pretty brave leading a 16 yr old girl to this board. I hope she's as able as your daughter to fend off the comments.

She can handle herself. I must tell you...I didn't GIVE the guitar to her (lest you think I'm a nicer guy than I truly am). I DID give her till she graduates from college to pay me back. She let me know that will be 5 years and 17 days. She's doing pretty well, though...she already gave me $6.

To my wonderful bauerhillboy friend, I am going to be 18 in November....that makes me 17, not 16. Thank you! Maybe you'll get the other $4 to make it an even $10 payment on my new guitar. :) To worshipleader- thanks for being proud of me, I guess. I'm just trying to follow the Lord....but I do have a passion for worship, even if I still miss a few chords when I get caught up in it. To all: it's nice to move past the Fender, with all the "love" marks from banging it into walls as a younger kid. I think I'll keep it though, because I'm not taking my ovation (that's not paid off) to the campfires with me, especially with my almost 13 year old twin brothers running around. :) I guess we'll just have to see what God does with me and my new guitar. Later.

Nice story. I gave away a standard Balladeer about 15 years ago to a girl I sang with a few times. Now she is writing VBS musical programs.

God is Good! :cool:

willingheart06 there was a post about a month or two ago about a guy who left his Martin by a bonfire; now it is toast. :D

So, E.Sherman, how long have you been playing guitar? It's cool to know there's someone my age on the site. :) (And that I found that person within a few days of becoming an official member. Searching's always a pain. :) ) I noticed the thing on the bottom of your post. Are you a Christian?

Oh, and I laughed when I saw the "guitar toast," but I can't afford to have that happen, so....
