solid's are tough to date...
check the ref links to the right..err left...
still trying to lock down the pd's birthday ser#E12794...'77? anyone know?
what finish is on your preacher? sometimes that can help as well as type of bridge etc..

You could use the pot date codes to get a 'not older than' date.
They should read, for example, 1377725 which would mean; 137=manufacturer code (in this case CTS), 77=year, and 25=twenty-fifth week of the year.
Assuming your pots are all original, the guitar can't be older than this date.
