Wood products "can" have issues. I'm going to forward your letter to Dr. Phil and see what he suggests. How has the guitar been treated? Has it been exposed to other guitars? There are many factors here. I promise, I'll get back to you as soon as I hear something. I know that this must be a difficult time for you. Dr. Ovation.

I always thought I had a light touch, but somewhere along the line I got into a bad habit mostly on barre chords of pressing to hard with my 4th and 5th fingers (pinky and next-to-pinky). This would happen more on a wide neck guitar. It was frustrating to "trouble-shoot" as I would play the parts by myself, and they'd sound fine. The other guitar player would go to add his part and it was like one of us was out of tune. We'd re-check tuning, play the parts on each others guitars etc. etc etc. Luckly he was also an accomplished instructor of 20+ years and caught what I was doing. It was not a fun habit to break.

From everything I have read on this site and others the 2005 Collectors is a real winner for Ovation and those of us who have one. What I would like to know is what happens to a defective Collectors when they go back to Ovation., especially what happens to a particular serial number. Is a new guitar given that number or is the original fixed and reissued as factory reconditioned. Dan

Helped a little but the 3 spots are still quite visible. Guess I gonna try the "barkeeper's friend". Where do I find that? You might want to stand at the bar from now on, however...

Seriously tho.....If I can't get them off, I guess I will have to send back to the mothership for repair. It definately spoils an otherwise flawless guitar.

However, from 2+ feet away they look disturbingly like finish flaws. I know they're not, but they bother me every time I see them.
