I was wondering if i could get some help on 2 things regarding my Magnum 3 bass
Firstly, i checked the serial numbers on this site and there doesnt appear to be a letter B with 4 digits. Only B + 3 or 5 digits.
My Mag 3 number is stamped B 4921
Secondly, the pickguard is well fubarred, in fact theres a piece missing, so if theres anyone with any spares - or with info on where to get one, that would be appreciated large.
Regards :) |

Not a Bassist, so no direct info. An answer will come soon. For Stock pickguards I would contact Ovation Customer Service by phone.
And there are other options... |

Well my local guitar shop has a trade account with Ovation and they told me " sorry, cant get 'em "
So if there's some other options, other than having to make one from a sheet of ...what they heck are pickguards made from...? Then please do tell dude !! |

they are made from pickguard material - see
www.stewmac.com
and I've had some success with the solid body PG's. Take a look in the Gallery.
Miles might come through as well! |

If i was going to have to make one though, i can get the sheet over here easy enough, but i was hoping to avoid it.
I noticed a guy on here by then name of Samova who said he had a couple lying around, so i've sent him an email to see which models they fit.
Sit 'n wait time ... |

"Thank you for your e-mail message to Ovation.
Sorry for the confusion on the website, there WERE a few B + 4 digit serial number guitars made in 1980-1981.
Unfortunately we have no more replacement
pickguards available, sorry!
Thank you for your support of Ovation and good luck! "
