Location: Williston Park, NY | After over six months of indecision over whether I should have the OP Pro package retrofitted to my '82 1619, I finally took the plunge and sent my old friend back to the "mothership". As many members here probably already know, the level of service and professionalism I received was exceptional, and I wanted to share my experience with everyone.
I had mentioned to Kim over the phone that I was having some issues with the low E and A buzzing all the way up the neck. No problem!! Not only did they put in the electronics, but they redressed the frets, gave me a new nut, set the action so that it feels like a strat (!) and buffed away the scratches on the black finish and cleaned away 23 years of accumulated guitar polish that had dulled the abalone. All for the price of the elctronics! I swear it's like a brand new instrument.
Thanks to Kim, who was great to deal with, and the whole team at the Factory Repair Shop. If anyone is considering having work done but is not sure, do it!
Next up is my 12-string (same vintage)! |

Oh, and I forgot the best part -- the guitar was back to me in 13 days!!

Location: Chapin SC | I've been thinking about getting another one, but I would feel guilty if I started enjoying another guitar while my first was off getting a facelift.
the mandolin just isn't the same. :) |
