I strolled into Guitar Center in Totowa, NJ on Saturday (part of a 3 music store panic-run searching for a replacement mixer for my gig that night) and right then and there before my eyes, the clouds of heaven parted, and a radiant beam of light sprinkled down onto an amber burst Legend LX 12 string hanging on the wall. I fell to my knees as I heard the voices of angels sing a song of glory. I was witness to the first LX 12 string to arrive in our area after months of waiting.

If you asked me if I would lust over an "orange" burst looking guitar, I'd say no way...but this baby was striking! The ebony bridge and black inlay around the sound hole looked SO dramatic against the top. Far more importantly, she REALLY sang like no other. The resonance was astounding, and the bottom end just thundered. Totally amazing sound and gorgeous guitar-and extremely unique looking.

Unfortunately, I wasn't in a position to buy it. I wept as the manager pryed it from my hands. And then, like pouring rubbing alcohol on an open wound, he proceeded to tell me that this past Memorial Day he sold Collectors 05 for $600 on a special deal without a case. It was then I fell (again) to the floor, this time to ball profusely. Oh the misery...oh the torture.

Somehow, the sun just doesn't seem to shine as bright as it used to. A few days late, and too many dollars short.

Johnny

The thought that always goes thru my mind when I visit a big guitar store is "So many guitars, so little money, and even less talent".

It's depressing.

Great guitar...Moody just had mine for about a month, put mediums on it. Maybe he will post his thoughts. Huge "Adamas type" projection.

What a story, the impact of it destroyed my 12 string program progress, and gave me visions of organizing an Ocean's 12 type caper in some town that has a store with LX 12 strings.

Are there 11 of you that will join???

Can anybody pinpoint the store???

Can you all fit in my '90 GMC Suburban??

Can we pull this off in Connecticut while the factory is distracted by an invasion of wierd late night OFC members??????
