Location: Mt Clemens, MI USA | I find that a lot of Ovations have a shap edge when your forearm would rest on the guitar. Does anyone have a problem with this and if so, is it a cause of regret concerning the purchace of your Ovation. I'm looking at a Balladeer right now but this edge issue worries me. |

Location: closely held secret | How is it different from the same edge on any wooden box acoustic? I find those harder to deal with, because you can't roll the guitar under a bit like you can with an O. |

| It's the angle you hold it at. It's the same with all guitars. A bowlback lets you adjust your grip by a mm at a time - something you can't do with a wooden box. In the comfort stakes an O wins every time.

Location: Mt Clemens, MI USA | It is just very sharp, it leaves red marks on my arm. This is the second Ovation that I was ready to buy, but that had this problem. It seems to be from the plastic body (where meets the wood top). I have never seen this problem on a wood acoustic.
Maybe I just hold the guitar weird. I dig Ovations and would like to pick up this Cedar s771, but I'm not sure now. I'll have to go back up to GC and try it again. |

Location: Mt Clemens, MI USA | I always sit when I play. BTW, it always seems to be Baladeers that give me this trouble. |

Location: closely held secret | I don't know, I don't rest my forearm on the edge. If anything, it's the inside of my upper arm resting against the top of the lower bout. |

Location: Warren,Pa. | The binding is white plastic. If it really bothers you just take some fine sandpaper and round the edge over a bit. I do this with neck binding because there's no way around grabbing that with your hand. Just consider it a little custom work. I especially wouldn't pass on that cedar top guitar for a little reason like this. |

Location: Waxahachie, Tx | I have seen this on quite a few, primarily the Satin finished model like the S771's on the models that have a clear coat finish it is not very noticeable. I used a 10X magnifying glass looked at a S771 I purchased earlier this year and it was just not finished, not de-burred, radiused, just sharp and it hurt. I would definetly get some fine emery cloth, and lightly finish/sand the bindings edge. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed this. |
