Rumor has it that they are quietly being rounded up with the promise of free strings and mustache wax. Of course, they have to enter the rear of an unmarked truck via the promise of a tailgate party to receive them.

As you can imagine, once onboard, the truck doors are quickly shut and the truck pulls away.

I can say no more.

Is it just my imagination or is the skunk stripe on the Uterus thinner than normal?

It is thinner, I was thinking it was because of the more tapered slotted headstock...

On all Ovations the skunk strip is thinner than it was a few years ago. Cost savings?

You're right - my new CA has a skinnier stripe than my Custom Legend. I can't believe I didn't notice it before. What else have I missed?

I learned on the tour that the "stripe" is now just for show. According to Rick Hall the layered wood does not add any stability to the neck. They keep as sort of a trademark.
I was kinda bummed out. I had thought that the stripe construction had a purpose.
I guess it still has a purpose. I think it is the coolest looking neck on the market.

The question is, do Schroder's guitars exist until you open their case?

(you've got to be a student of the classics to fully appreciate that one...)

Does this mean that guitars advertised with a 5 piece neck now come with a one pice neck and a decorative stripe? So what's on my BRAND NEW ADVERTISED WITH A 5 PIECE NECK Country Artist?

And all guitar making tradition says it does make for a more stable neck.

If what he meant was that it isn't any advantage, but they continue to do it for historical/trademark reasons then I'll stop feeling robbed.

It would be nice to know what caused their change of opinion - is it that the new neck system is so much more stable than the old design? Did they talk about this?

If you play it for more than four hours, go to hospital.

Beautiful pics

Might be a replacement for Viagra for some people who are perverts for beautiful guitars. Never someone like me although Shirley is now expecting and she is 67 years old and has banned me from ever visiting this site again.

I knew there was a reason some of our wives tolerate our OFC visits.

Should Miles post a warning?

Good to hear from you B Man!

It's still a 5-piece neck. As with many things done on the Hamer side of the house, it's done because they can, not because it's needed.
