This is at least the third time I've seen this guitar for sale in the last three or four months (same pics and text but different sellers). What do you think?

Contact Seller and ask for a phone conversation and that Paypal is certified. Only saw that one today.

The thing that throws up a red flag for me is, he has no feedback at all. Zero, zip, nada... I would be very careful. I normally use the 1% rule. If they have more than 1% neg. feedback, I shop elsewhere. :)

Jeff, with no feedback and as undefined as his location is, etc.....DON'T DO IT! Anyone who starts selling on eBay with a multi-hundred dollar guitar is either naive or less than above-board. My opinion. In either case, you do not want to deal with them.

Is this a left handed guitar? I know, how can a symetric acoustic be left or right handed? But, look at the strap button and the plug jack. They make it look like a left handed guitar to me. Plus, the volume knob is where the strap button would be on a right handed guitar.

I should clarify that I'm not at all interested in this auction, I just posted it as a "head's up." I probably shouldn't have put my subject heading in the form of a question, which is the reason for the confusion, I'm sure. No, I'm with the general consensus here, I wouldn't touch this auction with a ten foot pole--even if I were interested. This auction has more red flags than Martin has signature models!

When Ovation began putting strap buttons on the neck end of the body (circa 1973-74) they installed them on the treble side of the neck heel. I've heard it suggested that it was put there so they could mount the volume knob for A/E's on the bass side of the heel, but their acoustic only models also had the strap button on the treble side. My theory is that it was put there so the tension of the strap would pull the treble side of the guitar closer to your body, thereby reducing some of the upward tilt that occurs when playing Ovations standing up and with a strap. But no, that's not a left handed guitar.

MSB shows the same pics being sold for $810 ending 6/29/05 (my birth DAY by the way...)

Seems a bit suspicious to me...

I emailed this seller to ask if the guitar had finish crack at the 18th fret as was described in the Q&A of the first auction in question.

No response after a day.

asked seller if this is the same guitar - his/her reply was that it was the same, nothing in the response why someone with no feedback was listing a guitar that had sold a day or so before the current listing.

you should have taken home the Teardrop Adamas when you had it in your hands. Instead of an I.O.U. You could have called it an I.O.ME. Bring it home after OFC TOUR 2006!! ;)

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I sent an email to Ebay and showed them both ads. It looks like they pulled it.
