Just got a brand new MOB-47 yesterday. It's my first new guitar. Wish I was at home with it now instead of at work...

Congratulations and welcome to the club! The MOB is just about the perfect guitar for summer days along the American River or Folsom Lake and winter days/nights at Squaw or Kirkwood!

Thanks! I lusted hard for over a year when I first saw it in a catalog. We ran across one a year ago and I wouldn't pick it up because I knew I'd buy it and couldn't afford it. It was on a killer 4th of July deal this year and since its discontinued I knew it was probably my last chance to get it.

I'm still really a beginner. I've only been playing for about a year and a half. My other guitar is an Ibenez electric that sounds great but is neck heavy. The MOB-47 has a much better balance. It sounds wonderful bot acoustically and through my amp.

Can't wait until 4 PM...

Although I could skip the total blue thing I like the sound hole shapes. Maybe if it came in a Koa...

Hats off to Larry!

I love the MOB thing too, it's very stylish. Maybe I need to get one too, I sense that the collection has a hole in it.

I actually thought about getting one just to have an inexpensive mid depth Ovation to carry around.
I kind of like the color.

Thanks Waskel! Occasionally you'll see them offered with a case. This one make no mention of a case but if it stays under $400 that would be an excellent price.

Sure, Steve. I've asked him about the case - haven't heard back yet.

For what it's worth, I own way too many really good guitars, but my main slide guitar for live work for over a year has been a MOB. I've upgraded it with an OP50/OPP but it's still a MOB. It was hard to get past my deeply entrenched gear snobbery, but it's a killer guitar. It's strung with 16-60 gauge strings tuned to open E, and the top & neck haven't moved at all. As I've said many times, unplugged this plywood topped super shallow "POS" absolutely destroys my '72 depp bowl Legend. Just testifyin'

With palm tree shaped sound prots? I'd have to buy another one. Hopefully they wait a few years so I can talk my wife into that. :)

Day 2 of ownership and I'm still madly in love with guitar.

The style on the MOB speaks to the snowboarder in me. You know, the kids call my wife and I, "greys on trays!" If I were in my 20's the MOB, after let's say the Fernandes Ravel with sustainer would be my two axes.

The MOB speaks to me also. It just says "look how elegant my design is". What a statement this Ovation says. Awwww, what a beauty. :)

I'm just so thankful this came up after the Tour instead of before. Y'all are like lions with a belly full of prime rib. Everyone is so happy and content that I've just got to make the Tour next year and see what me and my lonely S771 are missing. :D

I think that part of the attraction of the MOB is that it looks a little unhappy, to me at least. The standard O bridges/tailpieces look like a little smiley face :D , but the downturned swoosh of the MOB one looks a bit sad :(

Makes me feel like it's the last little puppy in the shop that I'd like to take home and nurture. Poor little fella.

A guitar that pees on your lap. Just what I've always wanted.
