The rest of the sound chain and the capabilites of the board op have huge impact on the results. Good players and good board slaps can make even modest equipment sound great. And guys like me can make some pretty expensive guitars sound like crap. Or so said the cat before he chewed his own ears off. Dave

Board Op??
Whatthe f*&% is a Board Op???
The only "Board Op" that I know of is the lady who answers the phones here in the office . . . .

Here's what a TwoManGroup "SoundCheck" consists of:
Once all of the connections have been made, and there is a semblance of our guitars being "in-tune" with each other, YoursTruly glances to his immediate right to the POS Peavey P.A. head that we have and say ". . Yeah, . . . that KINDA' "looks" how we had it set the last time we played here . . .", switch it "on", turn on the mics, and "have at it" . . .
The only thing LESSER than our Musical Ability is our Technical Arsenal. Hence, our slogan: "The More You Drink, The Better We Sound."

Nobody's complained YET . . . .

Soundboard operator. If you had one at your gigs the establishment would probably sell less beer. Dave

Being that it's BeerProceeds that PAYS "TheBand", that'd kinda be like shooting ourselves in our collective feet . . . .

What would be involved to get the XLR jack installed. Would I have to send it back to Ovation? What is the cost factor? Thanks, Bill

bauerhillboy could tell you what it cost him to send it in and have it done. I got the harness and board and a spade bit and did it myself.
