Hey Guys, check this out. I just pulled this form the ovation website. For a limited time they are offering to do standard to contour bowl upgrades.

-----
Ovation is pleased to offer the ability for our loyal customers to upgrade their existing deep bowl cutaway Ovation and Adamas guitars to the new Contour bowl shape. This offer is limited to the month of August only and the cost to the customer is only the shipping charges. Please contact your dealer to make shipping arrangements. The upgrade will consist of the following steps performed by our skilled craftsman

1) Upon arrival your guitar will be fully inspected and adjusted
2) Eligible guitars will be loaded into Kim Kellers car trunk where the conversion process will begin
3) The conversion process will take several hours depending on the amount of direct sunlight on the trunk lid and the temperature
4) Once the conversion is complete your guitar will be inspected to our rigorus standards, packaged and returned to you.

Please hurry to take advantage of this offer, as the cooler fall temperatures are just around the corner.

I don't think it's April 1st.

Well, I'm pretty cheap, and I'd like to avoid paying the shipping charges if at all possible. So, would you say the Phoenix summer would prove better or worse than a Conn summer for this "work"? I assume you remove the guitar from the case before putting in the trunk. Is this correct? Can you give me some pointers on exactly how to position the guitar in the trunk? I assume you lay it on it's face and position the bottom of the bowl toward the sun. Would that be correct? Thanks for your help with this.

P.S. Do not wait for my pictures and a follow up on how this worked out.

After 3 hours in your trunk, just open the trunk and sit on the back of the bowl, that will definitely give you a CUSTOM bowl contour. Be sure to wear a pair of old pants.....

Save the shipping charges!!
I've come up with a DIY kit for a contour bowl conversion:
1. A heat gun ( puts the sun right in your hands)
2. A set of knee pads ( one to straddle and one to push)
3. 12 pack of Molson XXX ( for obvious reasons)

If your a flooring contractor, you're all set.
The process may look like your making love to your guitar - better wait 'till the wife's out shopping....
