Has anybody out there played a Fender Starcaster (the mid-70's semi-hollow with the very phallic headstock, not the new POS)? And narrowing the field further: Have any of you that are left standing ever played an Ovation Tornado? Can somebody offer a comparison/contrast of these two rare birds? I saw my first Starcaster pic today and was wondering how they compare. How's about it?

I have played both.
I would buy a Hamer newport.

The Fender is probably worth more than the Tornado
it does not make it any better. back in the day, we all hated the fender humbuckers since keef started using them in his tele customs now people like them. but what the hell do I know? i am just an idiot that sells gear for a living...
