That actually looks to be in pretty good condition. I asked the seller for a serial#. Any guesses on the year?

Just a guess...

But just by the label color, I'd say it's an '82 or '83.

$300 BIN!! Well if i could afford it I'd be all over it just to have an O 6 string to play.
Some one should jump on it. seems like a good price.

I see you couldn't resist. Congratulations! By the way, what year did it turn out to be? Was It mid '80s?

By the way, there's another one that looks good:

http://cgi.ebay.com/OVATION-GUITAR-MODEL-1617-ACOUSTIC-ELECTRIC_W0Q...

It's a little higher, but it looks in great shape.

Waskel, you rascal. Going nuts on the O buys lately? If my daughter hasn't lost interest in guitars by the time she moves to Portland this month, I'll send her over for lessons.

Appears to be an '81 by the serial#. I have a friend to whom I craftily loaned my 1867 Legend... now he wants an O. Big surprise.
So I'll let him choose between the Balladeer that should be here any day (I think it's an Artist bowl) and this Legend, which is a deep. He loves my 1867, but plays mostly acoustically, so is looking for a deeper bowl.

The one he doesn't choose goes to Africa with me.

Wow, my '82 or '83 was a good guess. I have a friend with an 1117 with that color label from about the same time frame. Waskel, why are you going to Africa? Is it a missionary trip?

Yes, a very good guess, J.
And yes, also, on the trip. Uganda, to be exact. But more of a relationship trip, to cement some friendships we made there last time we went.
