Location: lewisburg ohio | on my custom balladeer there seams to be a lot of room from the big and little e strings to the edge of the fret board I wonder if a person could have a new nut and saddle cut to make the string spacing a little wider to make fingerpicking more easy |

Location: Omaha | I did it on my Legend; just wanted to squeeze a little more room in between the strings, since I'm used to a 1 3/4" nut.
Just be careful that you don't get them TOO CLOSE to the edge of the fingerboard/frets; you'll be sliding off with minor pulls and bends (especially on the high E, there is some natural tendency to pull it toward the edge of the fingerboard, so leave a little "insurance space"). But there is some room to widen the spacing. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | You'll want to leave about 1/8" on either side of the strings so they don't go off the side. (You can get closer if you can play that good)
I've always looked for 1 3/4 necks with 1 1/2 string spacing. |
