I'm curious. . . of those of us who are thinking/planning/dreaming/hoping to get the slothead reissue, which one would you go for and why? Would you rather have the two knobber or stay strictly acoustic? Or is the color the deciding factor?

As I said, just curious. . .

OFC...for the a/e and the OFC (doubt that more than 12-16 will be ordered).

If I could swing it financially, I'd order an OFC (just to have an a/e Adamas - and the aforementioned "OFC"factor), but that ain't gonna happen . . . .

Tell you what Cliff, when I get the OFC'er, I'll trade it to you straight up for your original slothead. Hell, I'll throw in $25 just 'cuz I'm nice....

Now let's all say together in a loud and clear voice,

"Bite Me".

Perhaps someone could give me an idea of what exactly the OFC guitar will be? Or if it will be?
I kept up with it for a while but I am not sure now if this guitar is still a possibility or?
I was under the impression it may look very much like the Adamas Slotheads but w/electronics?

Only reason I don't just call Al or email him is I think this topic is certainly forum worthy and since it is to be an official OFC guitar and perhaps a once in a lifetime OFC guitar any update on it's possible birth would be welcome news here.

I'm the lucky owner of an Adamas II acoustic only and it seems to be rare. I've never seen another one elsewhere.

But I didn't have a slothead...
If the OFC is a slothead (and it should be isn't it???), it will be a hard choice.

One week ago, I've visited a music shop in Pigalle (the music shop area in Paris) and I've talked with the boss. This shop is the biggest Ovation seller in France and he has ordered only one #47 model!!! According this guy and CAMAC (the french distributor) he will be the only one in France to have a #47 for sale. He also told me that the price should be around 4000€ (4800$US)!!!

I've got time to have a big reflection and to find money.

By anyway, I'm sure that I will have the privilege to own a slothead one day!!!

Jérôme ;)

OFC guitar all the way for me. The color doesn't matter to me, even if I do like the red better. Like Tony said, it will be a rare bird. I always prefer a/e for my own guitars but do have two acoustic only so I wouldn't hesitate on #47 if the OFC was not an option.

PaulMac,
Might be worth traveling to New Jersey (Al's) to pick up...might be cheaper.

The OFC will be as close to the original slothead as possible. As far as I can project, expect to pay about $3,500 minimum.

May not have the ability to say it was an original but I have to believe you will buy history and be one of a very small few. If you can, order the OFC...the old style -8 (blue, newer -8's are darker). Understand that we have this opportunity only because Al has gone to bat for us and worked to make it happen. Not an opportunity that will be repeated. As I said, limited run based on orders (12-16).

And, yes, Al has my order.

Al is taking orders?????

.....hmmmmmm....maybe I placed a commitment when Al and I discussed getting it in red (blue....bah humbug!) ....or maybe I was talking about #47

Hell, I don't remember anymore but it seems I do recall someone saying that neither would be available unitl the first of next year.

You know, I think Tony's absolutely right about the OFC'er. He pretty well articulated my reasons for putting my name on the list.

What Al has done pushing for this guitar, and is doing with the swag around it is pretty wonderful. That such an ugle man could be doing such wonderful stuff, well, it boogles the mind....
