Location: Warren,Pa. | I'm looking at the one on ebay right now. Always wanted one. Question...Is everything the same except the TOP. Are they the same size, same bowl depth? I once had a little Applause w/center soundhole and I don't want to wind up with a slightly nicer version of the same thing. Thanks. John <>{ |

| The bracing is different according to the Ovation site. |

Location: Hicksville, NY | I also checked out the Ovation site, and everything else are the same, except for the bracing (as mentioned by Nick), which happens to be unfamiliar territory to me. Here are the sites of it ... there happens to be two of them, and it looks nice BTW.

Did you get a chance to play my Trekker at the tour?
I'm happy enough with mine.
There is a center hole at my local music store. It might be a tad louder than my multi-hole.
Does the one on e-bay have electronics? That would be a plus because they do not offer that anymore. |

Location: New York, NY | My understanding is that the TS012 (multi-soundhole) is acoustic-electric with an OP24+ pre-amp, and the TC012 (center soundhole) is acoustic only.
The Ovation website is not exactly clear on this. The website catalog is somewhat out of date. It still refers to the trekkers by their old names CS012 and CC012. The detail link on the TS012 doesn't mention a pre-amp, but if you enlarge the picture, you can see it.

Location: Phoenix AZ | Not to rain on the ovation parade, but if you are considering a trekker sized travel instrument, you should check out this Baritone Ukulele
The baritone ukulele is a few inches shorter than a trekker but has considerably more sound. I just bought a Jenny Baritone and it's the tits. I mean, the sound is incredible. It's small and easy to travel with. The finish and body inlays are amazing. And best of all, it packs all the fun of a ukulele. Kind of like a ukulele on steroids.
