Location: closely held secret | I picked up a slightly beat up 1861 about a month ago (the Africa guitar). I had my doubts when I first got it, as my expectations were high based on the sellers claim to "do a full setup and put new strings on it" before shipping.
Well, the guitar was dirty, the strings were corroded and dead - it sounded like crap.
So I took all the strings off, cleaned it up good and put a new set of D'adds on - it's like new again.
It's becoming my favorite 'quiet time' guitar - not a lot of projection (shallow bowl) but just a sweet, bright tone. |
