Location: North Carolina | I don't drink guys, I promise, but 2nite when I hooked up my Standard Elite and turned on my Yorkville AM100 acoustic amp, I heard something weird. Coming from my amp was what sounded like a German radio show. At least it sounded German, and I live in North Carolina. What would make my amp pick up a radio signal? Help! It's still doing it. |

Location: closely held secret | Probably old WWII era broadcasts. They didn't have very powerful transmitters back then.
BigBear, does it make that noise when the guitar isn't plugged in?
How about just when the cable is plugged in? |

Location: Capital District, NY, USA Minor Outlying Islands | Actually, I've heard stomp boxes being radio phonic, and I've heard a PA pulling in a nearby radio station, but never a guitar. Did you try it thru another amp? Did you try putting a radio in the same room and tuning around for a "ghost" station? It could be bleedover from a local college radio station. |

Location: Tennessee | We had an amateur radio operator just down the street from a house we used to live in. When he went on the air and broadcasted, his signal would invade all the wiring in my house, and come out of stereo, radios and other appliances even if they were turned off. But we could never hear the other side which made listening into a game. Of course, it may have all been just another little voice in my head. |

Location: closely held secret | Well, don't be hasty, Bear. It could have something to do with your guitar being plugged in. If something has happened, like the cord from the p/u to the preamp is not plugged in tight, or something causing the 1/4" jack to short just a bit. But first just try a different cord. |

Location: Evansville,IN | Could have been radio skip. It does happen once in awhile under the right conditions. The signals bounce off of clouds or other anomalies in the air such as storms or rain.
Used to happen when the CB craze was going on quite often.
