Lost 25-year-old electric/acoustic Custom Balladeer in Hurricane Katrina. Excellent condition. Request info on market/replacement value. Thanks.

Sorry you lost it. Glad to see you're alive. Three ideas.
1) When the airplanes have destroyed equipment, I hand them a bill for replacment, new. Check the ovationguitar website for their new price list. At least it's something.
2) Search ebay for used actual replacement.
3)Check some stores like that big place in Oklahoma, or Mandobrothers. Maybe they can help you out.
Good luck. I'm sure you thought of this already.

Sorry to hear it Mongoose.

Do you mean lost as in down stream with the house or damaged but found? If damaged and found you can send whats left to the Factory and they WILL work a miracle.

Hope all you lost was stuff, even though that has to be hard on you.

I have a "74" 1112-1 that I see (similar)going for about $350 on ebay about once a month.

Very, very sorry to hear about your loss, but Ovations are easily replaceable. Hope your family, friends and loved ones all made it through and are back on their feet.

I saw a nice early 70's Balladeer at Gruhn Guitars when I was in Nashville a few weeks back. It was in excellent condition and it was right around $500 including case. Hit their website at www.gruhn.com for contact details.

On another note, that was the only Ovation I saw in Nashville (except for Glen's in the Country Music Hall of Fame) and I did spend considerable time in the honky tonks and other music venues.

The boot store next to Gruhns was running a "buy one, get two pairs free" sale. How I wish that sale had been at Gruhns. :)
