I own one myself and cant find any redeeming qualities in it.Oh watch out while you strum as well it could do a number on your axe if you dont have a pick guard. It has an ok sound on my 12 string but even than wears thin real fast.I would just like some opinions if any one else has tried this monster of the sea.

I got one when they first came out.
They're a neat little "novelty"-thing that'll add an interesting sound (or two), but not anything that I'd be upset about if I were at a gig and discovered I'd left it home.

The only thing I've found it works really well on is the "intro" strums to ELP's "Take a Pebble" (where Emerson used to reach into the piano and swipe the strings with a plectrum).

Y'just gotta watch that you're not to "aggressive" with these things . . . the outer wrap on the tines have a tendancy to "unwind" easily.

(These guys WERE supposed to send me a t-shirt in exchange for allowing them to use a quote of mine on their webpage . . . never got it.)

Be real careful with these. I ordered one and after reading the information that comes with it, I strummed with it a few times and put it away.

Will ruin your strings and top in a hurry.

I'd rather strum my guitar with a garden rake. DW

I had a guy in a local guitar shop try to sell me a jellyfish, it looked interesting until he said the cost something like $17 bucks, I quickly lost interest.

I also didnt care for the idea of strumming the top of my guitar with jagged metal edges.

My company sells tons of them. They're not for everyone, and definately not for me, but if you are prepared to work on the techinques required to get get the best out of them, they will do everything the manufacturers claim. Think of it like a slide. How many people do you know who own a slide but never use it because it doesn't sound good when they try. All it takes is a little practice.

Brian, I'm pretty sure the US list price is around 10 bucks

Looks like the afro combs I used to see in back pockets in the 70's.

I may have found a new use for this pick, it is to be used as a fashion statement. I placed the one I have in my beard it looks ok  , but I'll always have a pick ready to use.

Don't be too cruel

The inventor was kind enough to post on this site a while ago and take on any of us who did not see the usefullness of his invention.

Do a search if you are curious enough.

I am not sure of it's value, but I respect his willingness to debate a bunch of fanatics here.

I bought a Jellyfish, but was not impressed by it at all. So I set it free.

They look good, but didn't sound any different than any other pick I've used. :(
