Someone was looking for a 1997 collectors a while back.

Here's one on ebay.

AFG was looking for one but this guy says he will sell to the lower 48 only. Maybe an email to him or maybe AFG can work through the adoption agency.

That is what I was thinking.
Is AFG looking for a narrow or wide neck?

I believe his preference was a wide neck.

Thanks for looking out for me guys. I'm looking for a wide neck (which I think this is). Like so many other ebay items the "lower 48 states" takes me out of the bidding. This guitar is even in Washington, so it's as close to Alaska as it gets without being here but they still won't ship. I'm going to send him an email and see if he will ship USPS to Alaska.

I just looked again and see this is not the wide neck. I'd still be interested if the guy will bend a little on the "selling to Alaska thing". I sent him a message.

AFG,
I'm within 75 miles of him. Ask him to send it to me or to meet me half way and I can ship it to you... after I take a few licks, of course!

MWoody-
I just might take you up on that. I'm waiting on an email back from him but will send him another to see if he would be agreeable to meet you 1/2 way or something. I am continually amazed at the generosity and helpfullness of the people on this board. I'll get back to you when I find out a little more. The auction has 6 more days... Does anyone know what the average price these have been going for in the past year?

I bought mine this spring for $475. My guess would be between $500-$600. Wide necks would be worth more. Of course having a guitar played by MWoody will increase the value considerably. :D

GOOD LUCK. :)

Would you like it "christened" in a sunday Cafe Band service as well?

There is a "question from other members" posted on this auction saying that the seller works for USPS and that he'll ship to Alaska!

Is that your question AFG?

A mint condition would be worth 550-650 and a wide neck probably $750. The value has increased a bit since the flood of '97 parlors that hit ebay a year ago has dried up.

At a good price I would go for this one even though I am really looking for the wide neck version. I'm going to keep my eye on this one for a few more days and see where it goes. I think the $750. BIN is a little high for the narrow neck. With shipping to Alaska the price would be too high and I would keep looking...

I always look at a BIN as the level a seller would be very, very happy...higher than his expectation of the bidding. In other words, if you have to have it, then you pay a premium.

Several 1 11/16 necks sold last year for $750. Is it worth it? Yep. Course, if some copy-cat lists another this week, both auctions will suffer.

Looks like someone gave the BIN of $750. for it. The search continues... Sometimes the chase is better than the kill...

The 1 11/16" neck is not very wide by any measure. It is probably not the exact guitar that the Fly Guy wanted anyway. The right guitar will come along, it always does.
