I have three not-so-little-anymore girls and the first boy coming next month. I still make the stupid faces but now they just roll their eyes at me. |

Keep playing for her...
When i was pregnant i played nearly evey day, with the guitar resting against my belly. I even hosted a weekly songwriter's night right up until a week before he was born, so he listened to a lot of music before he was born. When he was a few days old, he got all in a snit about something or another, and wouldn't stop crying. We tried everything... then i picked up the guitar and started playing it. He stopped immediately.... turning his head toward the sound. From then on, that was the answer to any kind of upset. He's 9 now, and LOVES music. He's just starting with guitar, and sings like an angel.
Again..Congrats on your wonderful news!

So you've seen John play, too, huh?
John...
To all three of you, congrats and best wishes from Jo and I . Lord knows you will neither one of you will sleep again during the night, but it's worth it. Remember, gigs now are your best friend...they GET YOU OUT OF THE HOUSE WHEN THE CRYING BECOMES UNBEARABLE (of course, making the patrons cry when you play isn't really a fair trade off...but what the hey!).
Seriously, here's to the little one. Congrats and good luck. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I went to visit our baby girl at college over Thanksgiving. She tried to get tickets for us to see U of Portland play Notre Dame in soccer. Since I coached and played for 25 years or so, it's as interesting for me as a football game. They sold out in 6 minutes, but my uncle called after we got there and scored 2 tickets 4 rows up at midfield. We had a great time and the next day went and looked at Ovations at Guitar Center. (How's that for bringing this on topic?) Having kids couldn't be better. |
