Location: Utah | I don't know what an "SKB" case is, but I would say that the starting bid would be a fairly good price, especially considering there's no sales tax. Looks to me like at least a $50 to $100 savings over the GC price for this guitar plus Ovation factory case.
How did Instrument Exchange get a new-in-the-box Ovation that was originally manufactured as a Guitar Center custom built item? |

Location: Tennessee | This is a Guitar Center selling this guitar. BTW, I think the really cool ones are the models that have the paint all the way around the bowl, not just the soundboard. Al's got one of 'em. |

Location: Utah | Yeah, there seem to be several versions of this red flame out there. The newest ones have the OP-Pro electronics and the original patented pickup, whereas the one in the auction has the op-30 and the new pickup. The newest ones come in a cherry red flavor and painted around the bowl, as well as an orange-red flavor with a black bowl. They all seem to be called "Red Flame", though.
Is the painted bowl slippery? |

Location: Rego Park, NY, | If anyone is interested, Check with Al. The guitar in this auction only has the flame job on the top. He might still have the Elite T Red flame(front and back)with OP-50 and LX Bracing. |

Location: Anchorage, Alaska | I've got one of the "Flames" that is painted all the way around, and yes it can be a little slick while playing sitting down. I have a 6"x6" piece of that rubberized no skid stuff you use for place mats in campers and boats that I put on my leg to play sitting down if I am bothered by the slipage. This is one cool looking and wonderful sounding Ovation guitar! |

The purple/yellow flame is pretty eye-catching - real good for glam-rock bands, I'm thinking. |
